Water Treatment Methods
Listed
below are several water treatment methods, and the technologies
used. Please contact us if
you need any further assistance.

Pure MB Series uses a combination of deionization
resin and activated carbon. The resin works by exchanging
contaminant ions in the water with hydrogen and hydroxide
ions. These two ions combine together to produce H2O.
The contaminant ions remain in the filter. The activated
carbon postfilter removes other contaminants by means
of adsorption and mechanical filtration.
Distillers
clean the water by first boiling the water. The steam
produced is collected and recondensed back to the liquid
form in a separate reservoir. Most contaminants remain
in the boiling chamber. Activated carbon is commonly
an additional filter used either as a pre- or post-
filter.
Reverse
Osmosis removes contaminants by using water pressure
to force water through a semi-permeable membrane. The
water passes through the membrane while most of the
contaminants remain behind and are flushed down the
drain.

Pure Carbon Block is comprised of two extruded blocks
of activated carbon. Contaminants are removed by simple
mechanical filtration or by adsorption (they adhere
to the surface of the carbon).
Faucet
Mount Filters may use different treatment media
depending on the manufacturer. The most popular model
uses carbon block technology, which removes contaminants
by adsorption and mechanical filtration.
